6:30 p.m.: Light supper and Inspirational movie series and discussion - each week we will share a meal, show a movie (movie to start at 7:00) followed by a discussion.  The three films selected have strong moral/spiritual messages that highlight some of the major themes of Lent:

March 17 - "Pay It Forward" - Based on a novel about a 12-year-old schoolboy in Las Vegas named Trevor McKinney (played by Haley Joel Osment).  Trevor was asked by Eugene Simonet (Kevin Spacey), a man with terrible burn scars, to come up with a plan that will change the world through direct action.  He decides to "pay it forward" by doing a good deed for three people who must in turn each do good deeds for three other people.  Also stars Helen Hunt as Arlene McKinney.

March 24 - "Miracle" - This is an American biographical sports film about the U.S. Men's Hockey team, led by head coach, Herb Brooks (played by Kurt Russell), that won the gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics.  The U.S. team was considered to be an overwhelming underdog to the Soviets.

March 31 - "The Great Debaters" - This is the 2007 film directed by and starring Denzel Washington based on the true story about the Wiley College (a Methodist institution of higher learning for Black students) debate team.  In the movie, the Wiley team eventually succeeds to the point where they are able to debate Harvard University.  It was nominated for a Golden Globe and won 4 NAACP Image Awards.
