Louisville United Methodist Church
To Live, Love and Serve As Jesus Teaches.

Louisville United Methodist Church Outreach

Our church is very active in the local community, as well as the worldwide community.

From food baskets, donations to local charities, and traveling to help others in need, LUMC reaches out to others.

Louisville Community Food Bank

The Louisville Community Food Bank is an outreach ministry of the Louisville United Methodist Church.  Our food bank has been in operation for over 30 years serving eastern Boulder County, including the communities of Louisville, Lafayette and Superior.

The food bank is supported by various organizations in the surrounding area.  We provide quarterly food deliveries to nearly 300 families (see the Special Events page for the next delivery date).   We also provide emergency food upon request.  Call the church office (303-666-8812) for more information.

Other Outreach Activities:

Many of our members are involved with the local Elder Share Program, which delivers food to low-income seniors in Lousiville and Lafayette on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of each month.

We support the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), the Rocky Mountain Conference Volunteers in Mission (RMCVIM), and the Boulder United Methodist Mission Partners (BUMMP) organizations in their various efforts locally and throughout the world.  Both youth and adult members have taken mission trips around the world to assist those in need.

For more information on mission trips and helping others, please visit the following websites:

RMCVIM website:  www.rmcvim.org

Our Mission Committee has been involved in many terrific projects.  In the past, we have assembled health kits for various relief organizations.  Our children like collecting "Coins for Christ" each Sunday during their Children's Message.  Coins collected (plus other donations) are donated to various organizations throughout the year (for example, the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless and during the holidays to buy batteries for the Toys for Tots program).

The Youth have been involved in many helping projects, including serving Thanksgiving dinner at the Denver Rescue Mission and mission trips to South Dakota and Southwestern Colorado.
